What field should I go into, if I want to study Energy Medicine (alternative medicine)?

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

I really wanna study “energy medicine” or “biofield science” which is a subdivision of Complementary and Alternative Medicine. I want to be both a researcher and a practitioner. But I have no idea which direction to take. Please help me by giving recommendations and advices! I’m currently in an undergraduate college that doesn’t have this degree. So should I major in Biology, Biomedicine,Psychology, Neuroscience, Premed, or Physical Therapy? Or do you know any good schools that offer this degree? Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

What’s the best way to find a local primary care doctor with more of an “alternative medicine” leading?

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

I’ve got Blue Cross coverage, and I can’t tell from their directory of doctors who would be more likely to have an alternative medicine leaning (in other words, if there’s a problem, the first answer isn’t just a pharmeseutical one, but might involve nutrition/natural remedies.)

Any thoughts of how to find a doctor like this? Thanks!

Is there any proof that alternative medicine works?

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

Just curious if there is any firm proof that alternative medicine practices actually work. I need *hard evidence*, preferably documented studies by a reputable organization. Anecdotal evidence and user opinion such as “I felt better” or “the Chinese have practiced for thousands of years” does not qualify as proof.
