Because it saves them thousands of dollars in hospital costs.

Because inpatient care is much more expensive than out patient care. Health insurance companies are going to make a profit. If they can cut their costs – it saves them money and keeps your insurance rate hikes a little lower. They will pass the increased expenses on to you.

If you’re an inpatient, they have to pay for your room in the hospital which costs booka bucks. Outpatient there is no room cost.

Because it is always less expensive, and they are in the business of earning a profit, and to stay competitive on the premiums that we are charged. You’re right more people are seeking alternative methods to stay healthy, this is the new trend. People are taking a proactive role in their good health, and not just looking for a majic pill anymore. Alternative methods are not cheap though, you have to do the math.

Two reasons: Obviously, because outpatient care generally costs less. But the secondary reason is, because the longer a person is in the hospital, the more likely they’ll pick up something nasty from someone ELSE in the hospital, and need even MORE treatment.
Did you see the article that Medicare plans to charge back to hospitals, for treatments to patients that pick up infections IN the hospitals?

Outpatient costs less when compared to Inpatient stays,, In Outpatient u will just vist the hospital and leave in one day. In inpatient you will b satying for more than 24 hurs and for this the insurance company has to pay for so may things like the room, bed any equipments like wheel chair or oxygen cylinders and they have to pay the doctors for traeting u everyday.. this would make a hell lot of bill payment for the company so they prefer outpatient when compared to inpatient stay.
