   The alternative to fire suppression is just letting it go. This is, in fact, the natural cycle. Forest fires clear out old trees that are blocking light and clear away ground for new undergrowth. Also, many seeds’ germination sequence is triggered by the high heat only possible in a forest fire. This is because over years of evolution, plants that germinated in the spring would die out because the light would be blocked by other trees, so the plants that grew after a forest fire had a better chance of survival due to the extra light.

   In conclusion, what many people don’t know is forest fires represent a new beginning and just another turn of the natural cycle, but since people build million dollar homes in forest fire areas millions of dollars is spent stopping a natural cycle for human invaders.
