white willow bark
take a cool shower – around 98 degrees
take a cool towel and wrap it around your neck or drape it across your head
if the fever gets over 100 you should really take something, like tylenol to relieve the fever

Besides feeling uncomfortable, a really cold shower will only bring the fever down about 1/2 degree; not worth it.
A fever is an indication that your white blood cell count is elevated, which means that your body is fighting an infection. On its own, this is not a bad thing. Our bodies have their own mechanisms to heal themselves. You will need to ingest something with anti-inflammatory properties that will help keep any inflammation at bay. Your fever should not exceed 101 degrees for a prolonged period of time. Sometimes we need real medicine instead of alternative medicine.
Rest is the best thing you can do.

Your GF is wrong its the opposite you need to raise your body temp to kill or weaken the bacteria that is causing your infection and thus the fever. When I was a kid here is how we cured Fever,We put on as many sweaters as we could and went to bed covered by as many blankets as we could bear and we sweated the night out the next morning we awoke cured

Keep cool rags on your head and neck, with your body in a blinket and drink natural tea with lemon and all natural honey. You will have to do this constistantly.

I have studied both medicine and alternative medicine for many years. The answers regarding fever are correct. However, Iit is important to understand that while fever is a good thing it should not be ignored. Medically speaking even a fever of 104 is not dangerous for a day or 2. But, it is also important to know why the fever came and other symptoms too. So if a fever persists more than a day or two esp if you continue to feel sick it should be checked out by a competant medical diagnostician. There are many new and highly dangerous bacteria floating around the symptoms may initially seem like a flu but can end up killing you. Unfortunately, most doctors esp in the ER are not too competant which is why that child in NYC recently died from a superinfection MRSA. So pay close attention to all your symptoms, esp if you vomit and or have diarrhea or strong abdominal pains that persist for more than a day. Then you must be seen immediately.
If you use antibiotics, never use the same drug class twice in a row unless more than 3 months have passed since the last time.
That’s how you build bacteria that get dangerous.
At the first sign of a cold, take echinacia liquid every 2 hours.
NEVER USE TYLENOL or acitominaphen-based OTC drugs. It can destroy the LIVER.
USE IBUPROFEN instead.
